Usually there’s a thick fog blocking out the sun and hiding the view here in northern Switzerland. Even on sunny days, there’s a haze or fog hiding anything further than one a couple kilometers away. So this past Sunday we went to the village next to us (which is 300 meters higher), found a parking spot and hiked up to the church at the top of the hill. We hadn’t realized what a gorgeous view had been hiding all this time. The Swiss Alps are so much closer than we realized. So that’s it. Enjoy the photo!

We have all been busy in the past couple weeks and particularly this week. The European Leadership Conference (for the Church of the Nazarene) is here in Switzerland during this week and pastors and lay-ministers have been coming in from all over. Shauna has been occupied with helping Ingrid with housekeeping activities and preparing for the afternoon coffee breaks with Ashley and Hilde.
I’ve been in meetings throughout the week, talking to people about what website resources would be helpful to them in the local church ministry, and beginning to work on a couple different website development projects. After living here for three months, I’m glad to finally be getting into some larger, more involved projects. Keep checking back for ministry updates.

Just a quick post today. The first snowfall ‘Neuschnee’ came the other day and the kids were excited to get out and hit the slopes on their sleds. Yesterday, we were able to sled down a short hill right outside our flat, but when we went outside this morning – all the snow was gone! We piled into the car, tossed the sleds into the trunk and headed north about 2km into the forest where the elevation is quite higher and we found a little snow! Check out our gallery for a few pics. I’ll add more soon.

Christmas is only a few days away now and so I embarked on a mission tonight for Christmas present (WeihnachtGeschenke for those of you following all the German words). After work this evening I (Ben) wanted to go and get lots of presents for Shauna and the kids so I gave Shauna a call and let her know I wouldn’t be home this evening, but that I was going out shopping for some Christmas stuff.
Herblingen, Switzerland was my first stop where I picked up some presents for Shauna at some nicer stores. From the HerblingerMarkt I wanted to get some toys and some other presents for the kids so I headed to Singen, Germany (20 minute drive) for those. I realized that I didn’t have my…
